Teaching Philosophy

“Teaching Marketing is a way for me to explore with my students how the various aspects of daily life are affected by the marketing mix and how it shapes and continues to shape our lives today."

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Lennon received his BA from Long Island University-Southampton College his MBA from the University of Baltimore and his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland. Dr. Lennon joined the Barry faculty in 1987. He has taught Marketing at various colleges and universities in Maryland, Northern Ireland and New York and participated in off-campus programs in New York and Miami. His research interests center on consumer perceptions of travel destinations, particularly Northern Ireland. He is also engaged in studying electronic commerce and new ways of teaching marketing. He has been the recipient of fellowships from the British Council, the Direct Marketing Association, and the Ambassador Jean Wilkowski International Fellowship, and has been awarded three different Title III grants for research in technology. Dr. Lennon has also received the Barry University Student Services Division Appreciation Award in 2002.
