International Business
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in international business prepares students to operate locally yet think globally. We are ideally located in close proximity to Miami , a recognized international business center and home to people of many different cultures. There is no better place to see international business at work than in Miami . As boundaries diminish and economic treaties like NAFTA, the European Union, and MERCOSUR unite countries, a culturally-minded and internationally-educated workforce will become increasingly important. We equip our graduates with flexible and transferable business skills that can reach beyond boundaries. Exciting career opportunities await students who acquire a solid business education with a global perspective. Global education is the wave of the future. One out of every four new jobs created in the U.S. is tied to international business. More than 2 million new career opportunities have emerged as a result of international commerce in recent years - a trend that continues to prevail!
International Internships
International Business majors are required to do both a domestic and an international internship. An international internship enhances an International Business student's resume by providing the student with the experience of working with a company abroad.
The Andreas School of Business offers undergraduate students assistance in obtaining an internship position abroad in their field of study. The School of Business has agreements with several universities and providers of Study Abroad services that can provide an international internship experience. These universities and providers, their locations, and the semesters for the internships are:
- Georg-Simon-Ohm Fachhocshule in Nuremberg - Summer
- TEC de Monterrey - Monterrey , Mexico - Summer semester
- ISEPS - Seville - Summer
- Universidad del Pacifico - Quito - Summer
How do I arrange an international internship?
- Dr. Laura Hart , International Business Program Director, Andreas 243, (305) 899-3528, lhart@mail.barry.edu
- It is important to start discussing your plans as early as possible since some programs have very early deadlines.
Consult your academic advisor to discuss internships and study abroad for semesters not listed before you begin your planning.
