International Internships
International Internships are a required part of the International Business major and may serve as a business elective for other business majors in the Andreas School of Business. An international internship is a temporary position with an organization at a foreign (non-US) location. Internships are generally unpaid and last approximately two months. Internships provide students with invaluable work experience as well as begin developing their networking opportunities in business. International internships give students the opportunity to learn about the practice of business disciplines in foreign settings increasing their understanding of the global business culture and the conduct of business around the world.
The Andreas School of Business offers undergraduate students assistance in obtaining an internship position abroad in their field of study. The School of Business has agreements with several universities and providers of Study Abroad services that can provide an international internship experience. our internship experience is not limited to the list of organizations above though they do make the process easier because it gives you a point of contact in a foreign company as well as optional housing, campus activities and access. The following is a list of these universities and providers, their locations, and the semesters:
Georg-Simon-Ohm Fachhochshule in Nuremberg, Germany offers a summer internship. |
TEC de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. This University, which is accredited by AACSB International, offers Spanish language courses, courses in Mexican culture and business in Spanish and English, internships, and volunteer social work opportunities. |
The Universidad del Pacífico with campuses in Quito, Guyaquil, & Cuenca, Ecuador. |

Creating your own international internship?
Many students have in mind where (in the world) they would like to go for their internship experience as well as what company, sector or organization they want to be involved with. We can work with you to fulfill your interests. It is important, though , that you begin having a conversation about your international internship with Dr. Tejeda in the first semester of your junior year to line up an international internship opportunity.
