Preaching / Ministry
The Dominican Sisters of Adrian, Michigan, are “committed to preaching the Word of God… and ministry to further the values of the Gospel” within the congregation, the local community, and the world.
Always sensitive to current needs, their ministry takes them to 32 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Canada, China, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, South Africa, and Haiti.
They serve as educators, administrators, lawyers, social workers, physicians, nurses, pastoral service ministers, musicians, artists, and office workers.
The Adrian Dominican commitment to social justice and the cause of world peace has led them to an active expression of love for all people. They monitor “social issues that challenge our Vision statements, such as the death penalty, the School of the Americas, and the economic sanctions against Iraq." They participate in non-violent protests, communicate with government officials, and work with other organizations that share their goals.
The Adrians invite all Barry community members and other interested parties to join with them as they work for global social justice. (Adrian Dominican website )
