Spirituality
At Barry University, our interest extends beyond your academic and
career development; we are interested in you as a full person. This, of course, includes
paying attention to your spiritual growth and the deepening of your
relationship with God and neighbor.
Whether you are Catholic or you belong to another faith tradition,
campus ministry staff can help you express and develop your spiritual
life. A variety of
events and programs as well as
pastoral counseling
and spiritual direction are available to give you the support and insight you
need.
Firmly grounded in Catholic tradition and fashioned around the Four Pillars of the
Dominican order
- study, prayer, community and preaching -- we invite all members of the Barry community into a closer relationship with
God and do so with openness to students, faculty, and staff of all faiths and
traditions.
Spiritual enrichment activities and community outreach programs are designed to be inclusive, incorporating all students seeking spiritual guidance and an avenue to express love of neighbor. At least one
interfaith service is held annually (generally the Seder), and
interfaith dialogues are scheduled throughout the academic year. Catholic
liturgical and worship
services are held in Cor Jesu Chapel and are open to all. |
