Anointing

"By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of her priests, the whole church commends the sick to the suffering and glorified Lord."
--Lumen gentium, no. 11

AnointingThe Sacrament of Anointing focuses on healing the damaging effects that pain, suffering, and death can have on a person's spirit. The sacrament celebrates the meaning that Jesus' own suffering, death, and resurrection can bring to human experiences of suffering. The mental anguish that often accompanies illness, for example, can be greatly relieved by partaking in the grace-filled love offered through the sacrament of anointing. The sacrament is celebrated when someone is seriously ill, about to have surgery or is near death.

Arrangements for the Sacrament may be made by calling 305-899-3650.
