About Us
Career Services are available to assist students and alumni with a variety of career related activities. The staff within the center is dedicated to helping in all aspects of the career planning and development process. We are committed to working closely with faculty, staff, and employers to make sure our office is meeting industry and student needs. The center can help students discover the career that best suits their interests and skills. In our efforts to accommodate students’ schedules our office remains open after 5pm during the academic year, Monday through Wednesday until 8:00pm, by appointment only.
The goal of Career Services is to encourage each student to take personal responsibility to utilize the center’s services to develop his or her career planning skills from freshman through senior year and beyond. Additionally we teach students skills necessary to accomplish successful career searches and career progression. We are dedicated to meeting student’s needs and are open to individualizing services. Career Services is a comprehensive unit that assists students in a variety of ways throughout their college career and after graduation. Career Counselors are available to provide counseling and assistance regarding career development to students, and alumni, in accordance with the University’s mission imperative of a caring environment. Career counseling is available on a pre-scheduled appointment basis. In order to serve all students and alumni, evening appointment hours are designated throughout the academic year.
We spend a good portion of our time and energy as a society in the work place. Finding a career that is satisfying and beneficial is crucial. The average American will work in 5-7 fields during their career. The Career Center is here to teach students the skills to be able to make smooth transitions. Taking advantage of the services provided by Career Services can make the difference. |
