All employers must register with and receive approval from Career Services prior to utilizing any of our services. To create an account, employers must go to eBUC$ and create an account. After completing a company profile, you will be prompted to fill out another profile with employer contact information.
After completing the registration process, your profile will be reviewed, and within 72 hours, you will receive an email stating if you are approved or denied registration. Career Services reserves the right to deny access to students and all recruiting privileges including job postings, resume referral, on-campus interviewing, information sessions and tables, and career fair attendance, to any organization. The Barry University Career Services Center is a NACE member. Any interaction with students or alumni must be in compliance with the NACE Principles for Professional Conduct, http://www.naceweb.org/principles/principl.html.
Commission-only employment opportunities will not be granted approval by Career Services. Employers or individuals hiring Barry University students must pay a base salary in addition to any commission-based incentives.
Similarly, Career Services reserves the right to deny access to any employer offering opportunities that require students to purchase products or services upfront prior to employment. On-Campus Recruiting
Employers interested in conducting on-campus interviews should contact the Career Services Center at 305-899-4010.
- All students participating in on-campus interviews are encouraged to research the organization and position prior to the interview. In order to best assist our students in preparing for your interview, we recommend that employers keep an updated profile on eBUC$ and that the Career Services staff has the correct URL for the organization. If applicable, we recommend that employers send us company literature and/or position descriptions two weeks prior to your interview date. If students will complete an employment application, employers are encouraged to send copies to the Career Services Center in advance for students to complete prior to the interview.
- On the day of your interviews, Career Services will provide you with your interview schedule, candidate resumes, and an evaluation form. Your schedule will have an hour lunch break so that you may join Career Services staff members for lunch and discuss any opportunities and/or concerns you have regarding your interviews. Please complete the evaluation form prior to leaving campus as the Career Services staff appreciates any feedback that will assist in improving our on-campus recruiting program.
- Career Services has a student “No-Show” policy. Employers are requested to inform a Career Services staff member if a student does not show for a scheduled interview.
Resume Referral
All employers interested in our resume referral program should contact Career Services at 305-899-4010. Employers must be registered an approved on eBUC$ prior to utilizing this service. To facilitate a resume referral, the employer must provide Career Services with a detailed position description, company profile, and requirements of the position. Once a deadline is set, Career Services will post the position for students to submit their resume to Career Services. Upon the deadline, Career Services will ensure receipt of all resumes to the employer.
Information Sessions
Employers are encouraged to conduct information sessions regarding their organization and any employment opportunities. Employer information sessions are expected to take place on campus and must be scheduled by contacting Career Services at 305-899-4010.
Employers may offer food and/or beverages to students attending an information session. If an employer would like to order food or beverage service via campus dining services, Career Services will place the order for the employer. Alcohol is strictly prohibited from all recruiting events.
Employers are encouraged to conduct information sessions that are open to all students. If preferred, employers may conduct information sessions that are restricted to pre-selected interview candidates. Employers must also specify if restricted information sessions are required for candidates. If not specified at the time of reservation, it is assumed that the information session is open to all Barry University students and alumni and that it is optional for pre-selected interview candidates.
Career Expos
Career Services hostsseveral on-campus career fairs each academic year. Career Services invites employers to participate in these events for a set fee. All employers are required to pay the stated fee in order to participate in each fair. All fees are due to Career Services on the date stated on the employer registration form. Any employer who fails to pay for a career fair will not be permitted to participate in future events. Requests to participate in the career fairs by employers not invited by Career Services will be considered on an individual basis.
