Industry Specific Career Fairs
Barry University is proud to host several industry specific Career Fairs open to all students and alumni on our main campus in Miami Shores. Organizations from a variety of career fields are present to discuss opportunities with students be it full-time, part-time or internship positions.
For graduating students this is an excellent opportunity to begin their preliminary search by meeting many employers who will be back in the spring and finding out about their organization. For underclassmen this is an excellent opportunity to seek out part-time positions and internship opportunities.
Mock Interview Day
Mock Interview Day invites students to practice their interview skills with representatives from area organizations. Students are able to interview with a variety of recruiters and hear feedback on how to improve their interview skills. This event ends with an employer panel discussing how students can dress for success. Students will learn the appropriate attire for casual versus formal work environments, ins and outs of dressing on a budget, and most importantly, what not to wear on the job.
Dine Like a Diplomat
Dine like a Diplomat is hosted annually by Career Services. This event invites students to learn correct etiquette for business and formal luncheons and dinners. The skills learned during this three-course meal provide confidence when eating within a formal or business environment. Dining like a Diplomat may be the key in separating oneself from peers and impressing employers.
Annual Open House
At the beginning of every fall semester, the Career Services Open House gives students a chance to meet the staff, see the office, and learn about our services. This event kicks off our year so that students can maximize our services from this point on.
Internship Panel/Luncheon
Students are invited to attend this luncheon that features employer representatives and Barry interns. Attendees will hear from both the employer and the student intern about the process of applying and securing the internship, as well as what it is like to intern at particular organizations.
