Barry University Student Number
All students must have a Barry University student number to complete registration. A Barry University student number is assigned by the Office of Enrollment Services.
Class Schedule Validity
Schedules appearing in this bulletin were valid at the time of publication. Barry University reserves the right to add, delete, or change without notice any information pertaining to course offerings, requirements, or locations that are published in this announcement. Barry University also reserves the right to cancel any class or section where enrollment is not sufficient. Full refunds are made when a class is canceled.
This option may not apply to courses in the student's major/minor or to courses required for professional preparation. The student must elect the option at the time of registration; any changes must be made within the regularly scheduled period for class adjustments.

A student who expects to graduate at the end of the summer I 2013 semester must submit application no later than May 10, 2013. A student who expects to graduate at the end of the summer II 2013 semester must submit application no later than June 21, 2013. A $150 non-refundable graduation application fee applies. Deadlines will be strictly enforced.
Incomplete grades assigned in the semester of graduation will result in postponement of graduation. Upon completion of the course, the student must reapply for the next graduation date.
Graduating students, with an outstanding financial obligation to the University greater than $1,000, will not receive a cap and gown and will not be permitted to participate in the commencement ceremony.
Only in an emergency situation may a student request an incomplete (I) grade. It is the student's responsibility to arrange with the instructor for satisfactory completion of course requirements. An incomplete grade must be redeemed within the semester following its receipt, unless otherwise stated, or the student will be automatically awarded a final grade of "F." Incomplete grades, even when redeemed, are part of the official transcript. Incomplete grades earned during the summer I or II 2013 semesters are due to the instructors by November 15, 2013.
Students wishing to register for 19 credits or more must have the approval of both their advisor and the appropriate dean. The part-time tuition rate will be charged per credit in excess of 18 credits - $845.00 per credit hour (based on 2012-2013 fee structure in place at time of publication of this schedule).
Repeating Courses for a Better Grade
With prior written authorization from the appropriate advisor and dean, a student may repeat a course to improve the cumulative grade point average. No Barry University course may be attempted more than three times. Withdrawals are counted as attempts. Courses taken at another institution cannot be used to satisfy a repeat attempt.
For example - If the student has an F and repeats the course and receives an A, only the A counts. Quality points and credits attempted and earned for the second attempt are counted in lieu of those earned for the initial attempt. Though both attempts remain part of the student's permanent record, the cumulative grade point average will reflect only the grade earned on the second attempt. The credit/no credit option cannot be exercised during the second attempt to remove a previous letter grade.
