The Field of Clinical Laboratory Science

Laboratory Science is among the fastest growing professions in the United States. Today more than 70% of medical decisions are made by physicians based on laboratory findings.

Opportunities for clinical laboratory technologists exist in a wide variety of settings, including pharmaceutical, veterinary research and public health laboratories, in addition to the traditional hospital setting.

Clinical Laboratory Science, sometimes referred to as Medical Laboratory Science, is an allied health field. Barry University’s Clinical Biology Completion Program can be used as a stepping-stone for graduate study in many disciplines, including health services administration, molecular, cellular and developmental biology, clinical investigation, and physician assistant programs.
