Welcome to the Department of Communication. Located at the crossroads of the Americas, our program at Barry University will open a world of opportunity in all aspects of the mass media.

Our majors offer the fundamentals of understanding all forms of multi-media through theories of communication, media ethics, public relations, advertising, broadcast communication and the Internet. In addition to our dedicated full time faculty members, our teaching staff includes experienced professionals from television, media production, advertising, and public relations.
Students will have the opportunity to seek ‘real world’ internships in one of the most exciting media markets in the country, including working with major television networks in both English and Spanish. Our region is also host to numerous advertising and public relations agencies. Our students have a unique opportunity to find challenging internships, many of which have led to exciting job offers across the country.
We are especially proud of our on campus state-of-the-art television studio and radio station where students get hands on experience announcing, reporting and producing quality broadcast programming.
