Graduate Communication Programs
Welcome to the Department of Communication’s Master Degree Programs!
At Barry University we provide two master degree programs, as well as, two certificate programs that allow our students to truly gain an in-depth perspective within Broadcast Communication, and Public Relations and Corporate Communication.
Communication degrees are highly sought-after in many professional fields. Our graduates obtain a well-rounded knowledge base and hands-on experience that is desirable in the workforce. If you are looking to pursue a career in media, production, public relations, communication, or are looking to change careers, then we encourage you to apply to one of our programs.
Overview
Our graduate programs don’t require a background in communication or a related field in order to apply. Most classes are held in the evening hours to accommodate working professionals, or those who have responsibilities during the day. Classes start in the Fall and Spring semesters, and don’t include Summer. More about Admissions Requirements.
Choose from the following graduate level programs:
- Master of Arts in Broadcast Communication (Thesis or Capstone Project)
Obtain hands-on experience in a learning environment that combines theory and practical application within the broadcasting industry. Customize your program based on your interest: radio, television, documentary, video production, editing, directing, and much more. Complete this program within two-three years. - Master of Arts in Public Relations and Corporate Communication (Thesis or Capstone Project)
The only master’s program in South Florida that blends public relations and corporate communication. Expand your skill set in writing, public and media relations, and corporate communication, while gaining hands-on experience by working with real clients. Prepare for a career as an advocate for businesses, hospitals, universities, or non-profit organizations. Complete this program within two-three years. - Broadcast Communication Certificate
Our certificate program provides a more hands-on approach, allowing you to obtain practical skills within broadcasting and production. This program is great for individuals already in the industry who don’t want a master’s degree, but would like to advance their experience and skill set. - Public Relations and Corporate Communication Certificate
Our certificate program provides a more hands-on approach, allowing you to progress in your writing skills, media and public relations skills, as well as, communication skills within any business setting. This program is great for individuals already in the industry who don’t want a master’s degree, but would like to advance their experience and skill set.
