Master of Arts in Broadcast Communication
The Master of Arts in Broadcast Communication at Barry University provides a theoretical approach to understanding the impact of broadcast communication within society, while giving you hands-on experience within the industry. You will produce high quality production pieces before you even set foot into the workforce, allowing you to gain the necessary experience required for this industry. With small class sizes, and individualized attention, you will truly achieve the knowledge and the experience necessary to excel in broadcast communication.
Overview
The program is customizable to your interests and career goals – you can focus on radio, television, documentary, video production, editing, or directing. You will learn from our distinguished faculty who have years of experience in the broadcast industry, along with our professionals in residence who are currently working in broadcasting. The curriculum is based on an ideal combination of theory and practical application. Students are required to complete this program with either a capstone or thesis project.
Length of Program
As a full-time student (3 classes per semester), you can complete this master’s degree within two-three years. If you choose to take classes part-time, you must complete the program within seven years to receive the degree. You may start the program in either the Fall or Spring, as we do not offer classes during the Summer semesters. Most classes are held in the evening hours to accommodate working professionals, or those who have responsibilities during the day.
