General Requirements For Full Admission
- Completed Application including applicant's statement of purpose and goals.
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Graduate grade point average of 3.0 (B) or higher.
- Two recent letters of professional recommendation for graduate study.
- Provisional acceptance may vary by program.
- For teacher certification programs, if the undergraduate cumulative grade point average is between a 2.5 and a 2.99, the student may be admitted provisionally. Full acceptance into a graduate teacher certification program is contingent upon a minimum GPA of 3.0 in graduate studies during the provisional admission period.
- Applicants who have been provisionally accepted must complete all outstanding admission requirements before they will be permitted to register beyond the credit limit. That limit is 12 credits.
Admission to Class
Applicants who have not completed the application process may be permitted to take up to 12 graduate credits on the basis of a signed application and proof of a bachelor's degree (copy of diploma or transcript) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Any of the courses taken under Temporary Status may be applied to a degree program with advisor's approval only after the student is fully accepted and only if he/she applies to a particular program within the limited number of hours.
Students under this status will not be allowed to register for courses beyond the credit limitation. Students must declare a major by the end of 6 credit hours. Students may not matriculate into a program beyond that credit limit.
Non-Degree and Guest Students
The normal limit is 9-12 credits, as above. Exceptions will be considered by the Dean's office.
Any of the courses listed at the end of the Adrian Dominican School of Education section may be taken for recertification.
