Accommodating Working Professionals

The Barry University Counseling Program takes pride in its identity as a community of scholars and clinical practitioners committed to enhancement of the relational and mental health of the couples, families, and clients whom we serve. We are also committed to working with qualified students who have their own family and work responsibilities. We recognize and honor the complexity of our students' lives by:

  • Collaboratively developing individualized advising and program plans of study.
  • Remaining accessible and involved with each student's curriculum plan throughout their entire MS or Ed.S. program.
  • Encouraging the development of peer working and support groups for study and clinical practice.
  • Providing all program courses in the evenings from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Miami Shores campus and offering all evening and some Saturday courses at the Orlando campus.
  • Helping students to arrange practicum and internship experiences that accommodate family and work commitments.
  • Respecting the tremendous commitment of personal resources that every graduate student makes.
