We are delighted by your interest in the Counseling profession and invite you to explore our website where you will learn about our Educational Specialist Program. You may choose from five innovative counseling specializations for the Ed.S. degree, designed to meet the needs of both practitioners and clients in the new millennium.
The Counseling Program at Barry University, situated in both South Florida and Central Florida, affords students the opportunity to participate in an active, culturally diverse, and theoretically- and clinically-rich learning environment. The Counseling Program has an on-site clinic with an integrated audio-video system. Students completing their Practicum and Internship experiences on-site provide direct counseling services to clients and receive supervision from their faculty supervisors.
Our on-site counseling clinic, Barry Family Enrichment Center (BFEC), while providing training experiences for our students, also serves the mental health needs of the surrounding internationally diverse community. The faculty and students of the Counseling Program are committed to promoting not only individual wellness and development, but also relational and community wellness and development. The College Reach-Out Program (CROP), offers counseling services that focuses on enhancing students’ and families’ strengths and resources while also addressing factors outside of school that impact students’ abilities to pursue a college education.
