Directed by John Manzelli with Musical Director Giselle Rios, PhD, a group of awkward young kids will vie for a life-changing spelling championship. While candidly disclosing stories from their home life, the tweens spell their way through a series of nerve racking and seemingly impossible words hoping to never hear the soul-crushing, dream-crashing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.

Conceived by Rebecca Feldman, book by Rachel Sheinkin, music & lyrics by William Finn, additional material by Jay Reiss. Originally directed on Broadway by James Lapine.  Originally produced on Broadway by David Stone, James L. Nederlander, Barbara Whitman, Patrick Catullo, Barrington Stage Company & Second Stage Theatre.

Shows are free and open to the public. For more information please call 305-899-3420 or email finearts@barry.edu.
