MAPS announces Diversity Dialogues: Hispanic Heritage and Healthcare

After the success of its inaugural Diversity Dialogues: A Look Into Haitian Culture and Healthcare in spring 2015, the Minority Association of Pre-health Students (MAPS) invites the Barry Community to its fall 2015 installment of the series, Diversity Dialogues: Hispanic Heritage and Healthcare.

Date: Monday, Oct. 12, 2015
Time: 5 p.m.
Location: NHS 102

Join MAPS for this insightful exploration of the effect cultural influences may have on one's healthcare attitudes in terms of patient-physician relationships and treatment decisions, as well as health issues that most affect the Latino community. Also learn Spanish expressions for use in the healthcare setting.

All are welcome! Refreshments will be served. Questions about the event? Email MAPS: Barrymaps@gmail.com.

This event is collaboration between MAPS, Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. Gamma Xi Chapter, the Latin American Student Association (LASA), and International Multicultural Program and is presented in observance of Hispanic Heritage Month.

MAPS is a multicultural organization with members from undergraduate (biology, chemistry, and nursing) and graduate (BMS) programs at Barry University. Visit www.barry.edu/MAPS for more information.
