Barry University construction update

ATTENTION BARRY COMMUNITY:

Construction began Monday, August 20, on the NE 2nd Avenue faculty/staff and visitor parking areas, along with the installation of the new guardhouse at that entrance. This is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

  • Faculty and staff who usually park in that area are asked to use the NE 111th Street entrance and park in faculty/staff parking nearest to Browne Hall.
  • Faculty and staff who park in the gated lot south of Wiegand and O’ Laughlin are asked to use the NE 115th Street entrance; the Exit gate just west of O’ Laughlin will remain open for the duration of the construction to make that parking area accessible.
  • Visitors will be directed to the NE 111th Street entrance then around the interior campus road to where Visitor Parking will be designated in the spaces nearest to Kelley House. Visitors may then utilize the sidewalks to the east of Kelley House to go to the front door. Employees, please do not park in Visitor designated spaces!

Moss will also begin installation of the NW 1st/115th Street Guardhouse allowing access to Dominican, Benincasa, and Kolasa Halls and the parking areas at the rear of HSC and closest to the tennis courts. One of the drive lanes may be shut down temporarily when excavation and placement of the guardhouse occurs. Moss will work with the guard stationed at this location so traffic flow is not jeopardized. Please use care when entering or exiting at this access point during the construction, which should take approximately one week to complete.

Please call the Public Safety Department at ext. 3333 with any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work on campus improvements.
