Buccaneers Finish Third In Rowing Heat At Nationals

WINDSOR, N.J.—The Barry Buccaneers finished third in their heat at the NCAA National Regatta on Friday.

The Bucs (Cox – Grace Horwitz, Stroke – Kristina Boncheva, Kelly Harrison, Renee Forcier, Kasia Walentynowicz, Mandy Carper, Helene Pierre, Courtney Greene, Rebekah Kilroy) raced down the 2,000-meter course in a time of 7:24.33.

Humboldt State won the heat 3.1 seconds faster than Mercyhurst. Nova Southeastern won the second heat ahead of seven-time defending champs Western Washington and Central Oklahoma.

The Bucs will now compete in the repechage on Saturday at 10:30 am against Mercyhurst, Western Washington and Central Oklahoma.
