BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Former Buccaneers golfer Daniel Stapff won a Latin America PGA Tour-qualifying event Friday after shooting a final round 66.

He finished 4-under in the 72-hole tournament to finish at the top of the leaderboard on the par-70 Hurlingham Club course. Stapff became one of 20 players to earn a playing card on the Latin America PGA Tour. The season begins in September.

Stapff (Curitiba, Brazil) shot 69-70-71-66 -- 276, matching Andres Echavarria for the top spot in the qualifier. Stapff racked up 14 birdies in the four-day tournament, capping the event with six in the final round.

Stapff joined another former Buccaneer, Willy Pumarol, as fully exempt players on the tour, which is operated by the PGA. Pumarol qualified for the tour after claiming the runner-up finish at the Argentina Open last fall.

The top five money earners on the Latin tour become exempt for the Web.com Tour, which begins in January.
