ADSOE graduate student Vanady Daniels awarded $4,000 scholarship from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority

Miami Shores, Fla. – Vanady Daniels, a graduate student in Barry University’s Adrian Dominican School of Education, has been awarded a $4,000 scholarship from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Daniels, who has been a member of the sorority since 1981and is currently working towards her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, applied for the scholarship in April. She was notified of her award following this summer’s meeting of the national scholarship and standards committee in Washington, D.C.

Delta Sigma Theta is a national public service sorority with a five-point thrust consisting of Economic Development, Political Action, International Awareness, Educational Development, and Physical and Mental Health. Delta Sigma Theta was founded 99 years ago and will celebrate its centennial anniversary in January 2013.
