MOBILE, Ala. -- Barry's Marco Mokrzycki and Fabian Groetsch lost in their bid to win the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Small College National Championships fall doubles title Friday.
The Buccaneers No. 3-seeded pair fell to Armstrong Atlantic State's Georgi Rumenov and Daniel Regan, the tournament's No. 1 seed, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
It marked the first doubles loss for Barry's tandem, which had won their previous nine matches together, dating back to last spring.
Mokrzycki and Groetsch went 2-1 in the event.
Barry's players will compete in the Pembroke Lakes Tennis Championships Oct. 20 in Pembroke Pines, Fla.
