MIAMI BEACH -- Barry University's No. 1-ranked men's golf team celebrated the five-year reunion of the Buccaneers 2007 NCAA Division II National Championship team Friday at the eighth annual Buccaneer Golf Day at Normandy Shores Golf Club.

Four of the five starting members from the 2007 title-winning team returned to participate in the 51-player Buccaneeer golf outing open to the public.

"It was a great opportunity for the community to celebrate the five-year reunion of the championship team," Bucs coach Jimmy Stobs said. "They represent what Barry University men's golf is all about: high standards, championship excellence and fun-loving professionalism. We hope to continue to win more titles to keep bringing back championship alumni to Buccaneer Golf Day, which supports a good cause."

Barry's golf team raised $605 for Pals for Paws charity as part of the event.

The winning team of the 18-hole scramble format was comprised of alums Casey Griffin, Jeff Bischoff and Jason Rable, along with Marc Pumo and current Buccaneer golfer Nico Cavero. Together, they shot a 15-under 56.

Scott Brady won the Taylor Made R11 driver as part of the Pals for Paws raffle.

"Barry University men's golf is truly grateful for all those who support our program," Stobs said. "We enjoy the camaraderie with the community and Buccaneer golf followers."
