Eternal Rest for Dr. Richard Tureen

The Adrian Dominican School of Education lost a beloved faculty member, Dr. Richard Tureen, at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, November 30. Anyone who knew Dr. Tureen experienced his kindness, as he cared for each of his student’s well-being, and tremendously enjoyed teaching and advising. Dr. Tureen did what he loved until he could not do it any longer: being a teacher and mentor. He was loved by all and will be missed by all.

Richard M. Tureen joined the Counseling Program in the Adrian Dominican School of Education in 1996. Dr. Tureen was Associate Professor and held a BBA from the University of Miami, an EdM from Saint Louis University, and a PhD in Family Therapy from Nova University. He was a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Florida and a Professional Member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). His professional interests included postmodernism, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, systems theory, and neuroscience applications to therapy.

In the spring semester, the Adrian Dominican School of Education will have a Celebration of Dr. Richard Tureen. He touched so many lives and he will live on in our memories.
