LAKELAND, Fla. -- Barry women's golf tied for sixth at the Lady Moc Golf Classic Tuesday at The Club at Eaglebrooke.

The Buccaneers shot a final-round 311 to finish with a 54-hole total of 927 on the 6,255-yard course, which was tested by heavy winds and rain Tuesday. Nova Southeastern shot a tournament-record 880 to win the event. Lynn was second at 898 and Rollins third at 901.

"I saw some good things today," Barry acting head coach Shannon Sykora said. "The good news is we're headed in the right direction."

Barry's Taylor Babcock shot 80 in the final round to finish tied for 22nd at 15-over 231. She was the Buccaneers' top finisher. Teammate Maria Paola Fiorio tied for 27th at 233 following three rounds in the 70s. She shot 79 in the third round.

Nova Southeastern's Linnea Johansson, the wire-to-wire leader, won the individual title in a playoff with Sharks teammate Liliana Cammisa after both finished at 2-over 218. Johansson shot 2-over 74 Tuesday, while Cammisa had a 1-under 71. Johansson, who birdied the playoff hole, was just the second individual to win the title in a playoff. The last time the event went to a playoff was 2011 when two NSU golfers also squared off for the individual medalist honor.

Francesca Perini birdied three holes en route to a final-round 75. She and Bucs teammates Daniela Murray and Nicky Ferre all tied for 32nd at 234. Murray shot 78 in three straight rounds. Nicky Ferre shot 79 in the third round.

Armstrong Atlantic's Jenna Birch shot a 5-over 221 to tie for third with Lynn's Jessica Bradley and Rollins' Annie Dulman.

Perini sank eight birdie putts in the tournament. Ferre was 2-under in par-5 scoring, and Murray 1-under. As a team, the Bucs led the 17-team field in par-3 scoring at 6-over.

Barry will compete next Monday and Tuesday in the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational in Winter Springs, Fla.
