Women's Tennis Hosts No. 2 Auburn Montgomery Thursday

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University women's tennis team will play four matches over the next five days, beginning 2 p.m. Thursday against Auburn Montgomery.

The Buccaneers, ranked No. 4 in the NCAA Division II national poll, are coming off three wins in Texas, including a big victory over No. 3 Abilene Christian on the road last week. Auburn Montgomery is ranked No. 2 in NAIA.

Barry (13-0) also host Division II newcomer Oklahoma Christian 10 a.m. Sunday and Division I Rutgers 3 p.m. Sunday in a doubleheader. The Bucs host Division III No. 2 Amherst College 3 p.m. Monday at Buccaneer Tennis Center.

The Bucs are 59-10 in singles matches, which includes a 7-3 record against nationally-ranked opponents. They are 36-3 in doubles play, putting together a 4-0 mark against ranked foes.

Four different Barry players have earned Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honors this year.
