Women's Golfer Qualifies for U.S. Women's Amateur

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Barry University women’s golfer Nicky Ferre qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship after shooting 73 at Quail Ridge Country Club’s South Course.

Ferre, a Weston, Fla., native who finished her freshman season at Barry in the spring, qualified after becoming one of three players to advance from a four-player playoff. NCAA Division II Player of the Year Annie Dulman, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., is the first alternate.

Nine players qualified at Quail Ridge from a pool of local, national and international players, including some who compete on the NCAA Division I level.

The U.S. Amateur will be held Aug. 5-11 at Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C.  For more information on the U.S. Amateur, click HERE.
