MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Barry University senior defender Katrina Molfetta has been named to the 2013 CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-South Region women's soccer team. It is her second career selection to the team.

Molfetta has played in 14 of the Bucs’ 15 games this season, including nine starts at left back. She has helped lead the team back to the Sunshine State Conference Tournament for the first time since 2004 and had been a key member of a defense which ranks first in the conference in goals against average and shutouts.

A 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-American, Molfetta has been a consistent academic performer for the Bucs. In her six semesters, she has made the President’s List twice, the Dean’s List three times and the Athletic Director’s List once. She has earned a spot on the SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll all three years so far.

Also active in community service, she has assisted with the Gobble Wobble 5K and the National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
