OAKVILLE, Ontario -- Barry University men's golfer Adam Svensson was invited to play the RBC Canadian Open for a second straight year.

Svensson, of Surrey Vancouver, B.C., competed in the PGA Tour event last summer on a sponsor's exemption. He was invited back on an exemption again this year to play the Royal Montreal Golf Club's par-70, 7,153-yard course July 24-27.

Last year, Svensson shot 76-72 -- 148 in his first PGA event, but did not make the cut. Brandt Snedeker shot 16-under 272 to win last year's tournament. This year's field includes, among others, Luke Donald, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Lucas Glover, Retief Goosen, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan, Graeme McDowell and Mike Weir.

Svensson is the No. 27-ranked amateur in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
