J.R. Steele enjoys helping students reach their full potential through the lessons learned in speech. Since 2005, she has been teaching an array of communication courses at Barry University, Broward College and FIU. In 2012 Barry became her full-time home as she moved into the role of Speech Instructor/Coordinator.
Over the past twenty years, she has worked professionally consulting with companies like American Express as a lead instructional designer to producing videos and award ceremonies for organizations like the International Swimming Hall of Fame and Museum. With a reputation as a thoughtful, motivational speaker she was contracted by the federal government as part of the National Prevention Implementation Program speaking to high schools, colleges and even parent groups throughout the country serving on the front lines of the War on Drugs. She graduated with an M.S. degree from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. The program specialized in Organizational Communication, Learning, and Design.
