Thesis/Capstone Project

The Master of Arts in Broadcast Communication and the Master of Arts in Public Relations and Communication requires you to complete either a Thesis or Capstone Project.

Thesis

For individuals who are interested in pursuing their Ph.D., completing the Thesis would be very beneficial.  Heavily based on exploration and research, the Thesis will allow you to explore a subject of interest within your field of study, and utilize much of what was learned within the theoretical side of their studies.

Capstone Project

Beneficial for those individuals interested in developing a compelling portfolio piece so they can go straight into the industry after graduation. The Capstone Project puts the hands-on aspect of the programs to the test. You will develop your own portfolio with guidance from a professor.

Broadcast Communication: Students within the broadcast program develop production pieces that focus on their area of interest: radio, television, documentary, video production, editing, or directing.

Public Relations and Communication: Students work one-on-one with a company within the Miami community to develop a strategic communication campaign. (See Real Client Work )
