Buccaneer newspaper wins several awards from the Catholic Press Association

Barry University’s student newspaper, the Buccaneer, is the recipient of several awards from the Catholic Press Association. Our entries in the Student Division of The Catholic Press Association were judged among more than 3,000 entries submitted by journalists, authors and students in this national recognition award program.

Professionals who work in the Catholic press, and are members of the Catholic Press Association, judge each entry and offer a critique of each submission. All winning entrants receive an award certificate along with judge feedback, are listed in the June issue of the Catholic Journalist, and are acknowledged during the Catholic Press Awards Banquet in June in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The Buccaneer submitted seven entries from the 2018 academic year, receiving five awards from that batch of entries.
