Meet the Disability Services Staff
Leslie Rouder, LCSW.
Disability Services Specialist
Leslie Rouder has been working in the area of Disability Services in Higher Education for the past 14 years and is currently employed by the University as a Disability Services Specialist. She is also a licensed Social Worker in private practice where her primary focus is on women and adults with ADHD. Her role at the university is to review clinical documentation and assist in the implementation of developing a treatment plan to provide appropriate accommodations to those students attending the university with documented disabilities. Leslie works closely with faculty, staff and legal department in assuring Barry University students are provided equal access to all curricular and co-curricular activities, while making sure that the University is in compliance with the Americans with Disability Act.
Allison Kowlessar, MSW
Allison Kowlessar received her Master of Social Work from Barry University and has worked as the Coordinator in the Office of Disability Services since 2006. Allison works with the Disability Services Specialist to review clinical documentation to create and implement student accommodations. Allison is responsible for overseeing, monitoring and maintaining all students meeting the criteria of having a documented disability. Allison is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to University faculty and staff to maintain compliance with the American Disability Act. Allison also serves as the liaison for the PACE off campus sites.
Lina Villegas is the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Disability Services. She is responsible for maintaining day to day office operations. Lina provides a caring environment for all the students, faculty and staff members who seek services or information from us. Since Lina enjoys helping people she volunteers at her church. Lina has worked with preschoolers. Currently she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
