Barry University was the first university in Florida to be fully
upgraded to Windows 2000 Active Directory (native mode) and Exchange
2000 Servers.
The web services group were proud recipients of the 2002 CASE (Council
for Advancement and Support of Education) Award of Excellence in
the Category of Internal Communications Programs for District III.
This award was given to the team for the redesigned Barry 4U! campus
newsletter.
With the acquisition of nearly 200,000 items at the Law School,
Barry’s library holdings exceed 930,000, well above the average
for a school this size.
Barry was the first university in South Florida to provide full
Internet access in all residence halls.
The David Brinkley Television Studio received a Holocaust Documentation
Award for videotaping the stories of 32 Holocaust survivors.

as being a leader among educational institutions in the field of
technology. Network Appliance, Inc. has announced the deployment
of its data center solutions to provide internationally-ranked Barry
University with advanced back-up and recovery capabilities for its
growing communications infrastructure.
Barry has developed a wide-ranging Student Web, serving as a clearinghouse
of information on financial aid, campus events and news, internships,
job, and study-abroad programs.
Barry University provided live, web-based broadcast of NCAA championship
Division II (men’s and women’s) soccer games in 1999
and 2000. Barry now is the only Sunshine State Conference school,
and one of the few in Division II, to provide live stats web broadcasts
of events.
