Program Overview

This major requires 43 semester hours in biology including:

  • Biological Foundations
  • Botany
  • Zoology
  • Comparative Anatomy
  • Biodiversity of Ecosystems
  • Ecology
  • Comparative Physiology
  • Dynamics of Restoration Ecology
  • Restoration Models: Everglades
  • Ecological Field Studies

Additional recommended credits may be taken from the following courses: Marine Biology, Aquatic Botany, Biochemistry, and Seminar.

Students must also fulfill the following biology, chemistry and physics requirements:

  • BIO 300 - Special Topics as specified in the Undergraduate Catalog
    ( Biology 300 courses do not count toward the major)
  • General Chemistry & Qualitative Analysis
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Quantitative Analysis
  • 4 semester hours of physics (Introductory Physics or General College Physics recommended)
  • Calculus I recommended
