Dr. Joyce Warner, Associate Professor, joined the Reading Department in the Adrian Dominican School of Education in 2003. Prior to that, from 2001 through 2003, she was Regional Coordinator for the Florida Literacy and Reading Excellence (FLARE) Center at the University of Central Florida. In addition, she taught Reading Practicum, Remedial Reading and Language Arts undergraduate and graduate, as well as certification courses at Florida Atlantic University, where she also supervised teacher interns.
Dr. Warner has 30 years of K-12 teaching experience in all areas and levels of literacy, reading and language arts education. In addition to her direct classroom experience, she led school-wide Title I programs and she initiated and led a district wide high school literacy program.
She holds an EdD from the University of Pennsylvania with a specialization in Reading, an MS in Curriculum Development from Monmouth University and a BA in English from Syracuse University. She is a Teacher/Teacher Trainer for the Orton-Gillingham Reading process and holds a Florida certification a Reading Specialist, K-12.
