The Barry Family Enrichment Center serves clients from the community and is a practicum site for Barry's master's-level counseling degree students.
The Pre-K/Primary Education program sponsors the Celebration of the Young Child Seminar every April for early childhood educators. The seminar offers early childhood practitioners opportunity to participate in professional development experiences.
Barry School of Education faculty members and administrators are active members of the Broward Educational Consortium, a group of colleges and universities, which work with the Broward County Public Schools to meet the educational need of the students, teachers, and community members in Broward County.
Since 1998, the Office of Migrant Education and Special Projects at Barry University's Adrian Dominican School of Education, offers academic enrichment opportunities to the migrant/farm-worker community in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Collier Counties. The mission of the Barry University Office of Migrant Education is to provide services and assistance to the migrant/farm-worker community and enhance the quality of life of a population that traditionally has been underserved. Presently, the School of Education successfully manages two federal grants: High School Equivalency Program (H.E.P.) and the College Assistance Migrant Program (C.A.M.P.), as well as a Florida State funded program, Even Start Family Literacy Program and the privately funded Florida Governor's Family Literacy Initiative (GFLI). |
