Distance Education

The School of Education is making significant progress in developing and offering courses and course components delivered via distance technologies. We currently are using Blackboard as the primary medium for our online courses and course components. We are also using two-way compressed videoconferencing for courses when we need to provide teaching and learning activities in an environment that provides real-time video and audio interaction with the instructor and among students in a course. Lastly, we have developed DVD, CD, and video tape components for several courses.

A support structure, the Center for Excellence in Learning & Teaching (CELT) exists for faculty and students. At any time, faculty and students may get help by accessing help.barry.edu; requests for support will be routed to CELT. In addition, workshops at the beginning of every semester are scheduled for hands-on practice for a technology enriched class; a schedule or workshops is posted at celt.barry.edu.

We look forward to your involvement in our courses that use these technologies.
