School of Education honor society, Kappa Delta Pi, accepting nominations

The School of Education Nu Psi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, is currently accepting nominations for pledging and applications for membership initiation. Faculty can nominate students, or interested students may self-submit. The deadline to pledge is Monday, Nov. 5.

Membership in the Nu Psi chapter of Kappa Delta Pi depends upon fulfillment of the following qualifications/ activities without regard to race, age, color, religion, sex or handicapping condition.

To be eligible to PLEDGE, a student/candidate must:

• Show evidence of required GPA score. Undergraduate final term sophomore standing, a GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 (or its equivalent), and at least 12 semester hours (or its equivalent) in education courses for undergraduates. Graduate students must have program admission status, 6 or more semester hours (or its equivalent) in that institution, at least 12 semester hours (or its equivalent) of education courses, and a graduate-level GPA of at least 3.50 out of 4.0.
• Submit a completed Society Pledge Recommendation/Nomination and Application Form and pledging fee of $15.00 (payable to KDP-Nu Psi Chapter). 
• Obtain Chapter Executive Committee approval prior to fall 2007 ceremony. Each nominee will be considered on an individual basis. 
• Attend and participate in orientation meetings, pledging and KDP activities during the pledging semester.

To be eligible to be INITIATED, a student/candidate must:

• Attend the complete Pledging Orientation and ceremony.
• Participate in KDP-Nu Psi Chapter activities during the pledging semester. 
• Submit a completed a “Pledge Point Sheet,” and Membership Application form with the initiation fee of $55.00 (payable to KDP-Nu Psi Chapter). 
• Attend and participate in the Initiation Ceremony.

The Fall 2007 Pledging and Initiation Ceremonies for Kappa Delta Pi are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 (NEW DATE!).

All completed pledging and nomination, application forms and fees must be sent to Mrs. Barbara Cook, Barry University, ADSOE, 11300 NE Second Avenue, Miami Shores, Florida 33161, no later than 2:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, 2007.
