Orlando Graduate Counseling Student Awarded Scholarship from
The Central Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy

Ms. Katherine Kruczek Salgado, a Master’s in Counseling student at the Orlando Site of the
Adrian Dominican School of Education, was awarded a scholarship from the Central Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CFAMFT) on December 1, 2011.

Each year, the Central Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy honors a
unique graduate student who is enrolled in a Master’s in Counseling program specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy in the Central Florida area with a scholarship of $500.

To qualify, students have to write a five hundred word essay about why they choose to go into the field of Marriage and Family Therapy.  Ms. Salgado’s essay focused on her experiences when she worked at an elementary school. During her work at the school, she realized that she wanted to help children and their families as they deal with life's difficulties.

“Khakie (Katherine) is truly a wonderful student, and it is no surprise that she was awarded this honor.  She exemplifies what it means to be a Counseling professional, and we are so lucky to have her entering our field,” said Dr. Christine Sacco-Bene, Assistant Professor of Counseling.

The Central Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CFAMFT) is a professional association which represents marriage and family therapists in Central Florida. CFAMFT is also a chapter of the Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy which is a division of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.  Further details on CFAMFT can be found at http://www.cfamft.org/.
