During the spring semester, Barry University Counselors’ Association – Orlando (BUCAO) along with Orlando ADSOE and ACE students and employees participated in the “Soles4Souls” shoe drive. During the Fall, 2010 semester, BUCAO received a generous contribution from SAIC Orlando Chapter - Women's Network to support BUCAO’s linens drive for a local domestic violence shelter.
BUCAO was asked by SAIC of Orlando to partner with them to collect shoes for “Soles4Souls.” SAIC's goal was to collect over 1,000 pairs of shoes. With the assistance of BUCAO and the wonderful students and faculty at the Alafaya Trail location, they were able to reach their goal of 1,000 pairs of shoes. They received an estimated 250 to 300 pairs of shoes, which accounted for 25-30% of the total goal of 1000 pairs.
