Dr. Juanita Brandford

Dr. Juanita Brandford is an Associate Professor in the School of Education. She received her doctorate degree from Columbia University, specializing in educational leadership. Dr. Brandford is an experienced administrator at the state, district and school levels. Presently, in addition to teaching, Dr. Brandford administers the Miami-Dade North 2+2 ESE Program and is Co-director of Project Impact: Empowering Special Educators.

Ms. Maria Elena Buria

Ms. Maria Elena Buria is the Program Coordinator for the PreK/Primary Education 2+2 program at the Broward Community College Barry site. She has a background in counseling, social work, writing, and is a published author. Ms. Buria has focused on early childhood education as well as ESOL and has directed the highly successful and popular ESOL institutes at Barry.

Dr. Luis Conde

Dr. Luis Conde is an Assistant Professor of Education and the Program Coordinator for Exceptional Student Education Kendall Program. Dr. Conde received his doctorate from Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Conde has extensive experience in the field of Exceptional Student Education.

Dr. Ollie Daniels

Dr. Ollie Daniels is an Associate Professor of Education and the Program Coordinator for the 2+2 North Campus Elementary Program. Dr. Daniels received his doctorate degree from the University of Florida. His major area of specialization was instructional leadership with a minor in science education and computer education. His B.S. and M.S. degrees are in biology and chemistry. Dr. Daniels has been a high school science teacher as well as an assistant principal and principal and has been working in the field of education for thirty-eight years. He has been recognized for his outstanding leadership from several organizations including the B’nai B’rith Jewish organization.

Javier Gonzalez

Mr. Javier Gonzalez is a faculty member of the Department of Teaching and Learning and the Coordinator for the 2+2 Program at Wolfson/Interamerican. He is an experienced educator of over 19 years in the areas of Pre-K/Primary and Elementary Education. He has taught for the Dade County Public Schools as well as for the private sector. At the college level, Mr. Gonzalez has taught at Florida International University, Kennesaw State University (Georgia), and Chattahoochee Technical College (Georgia).

Mr. Gonzalez enjoys teaching courses in curriculum studies, social studies education, the humanities, and early childhood education. His current research interests include constructivist education, early brain development, early intervention programs, Emilia Reggio preschools, and the work of Humberto Maturana.

Mr. Gonzalez has presented in numerous state, regional, and national conferences. A children’s chapter book, Goodbye, Cuba Linda is forthcoming. His community service includes working with homeless children and their families. He is presently pursuing his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at Barry University.

Sharon Kolsky

Sharon Kolsky is the Coordinator for the PreK/Primary program at InterAmerican/Coral Way Elementary School Barry site. Mrs. Kolsky, an experienced educator, comes to Barry university from MDCC and FIU. In addition to her college level experience, Mrs. Kolsky was an Educational Specialist in Miami-Dade County Public Schools with responsibility for teaching in-service courses and aiding teachers in the Title One Program.

Dr. John Pittman is an associate professor and the Coordinator of the 2+2 Elementary Education evening program at the Kendall campus. He received his doctorate from the University of Miami specializing in educational leadership. Dr. Pittman is a 38 year veteran of the Miami-Dade County School system where he taught elementary school, served as a visiting teacher, a district supervisor for after-school care programs, a district supervisor of adult and community education programs, and as an elementary school principal.

Dr. Fay Roseman

Dr. Fay Roseman is an Assistant Professor and the Undergraduate Program Coordinator for the Main Campus. Dr. Roseman taught at the Elementary School level in New York before moving to Florida and receiving her Ph.D. in Social Work from Barry University. Dr. Roseman teaches courses in child growth and development and child study skills in the PreK/Primary program and the distance learning version of educational psychology for 2+2 students.

Additionally, there are many talented, experienced adjunct faculty members who strengthen the elementary 2 + 2 faculty. Former administrators as well as professionals currently employed in the public and private sectors bring real-life, current expertise and enhance both the content and reality-based elementary 2 + 2 courses.
