Barry will provide you with the resources and assistance that you need in order to reach your goals.Our professors pay attention to the progress of all students in order to monitor their development. We believe that a caring classroom environment will produce caring teachers. This is confirmed by the frequency of positive feedback that we receive from employers who have found Barry graduates to be very nurturing teachers.
Faculty. Education faculty work in area schools at least three days a year in order to stay current with the latest trends and developments. Many of our adjuncts are current practitioners in the field, and many are board-certified teachers.
Experience. Real-world experiences are built into the program. You will be provided with many opportunities for field experiences in your courses, including observing classroom settings, working with groups of students, participating in one-on-one sessions, and teaching a variety of topics. The Director of Field Experiences will work with you to find a nearby school for an experience that will meet your career goals, personal interests, schedule, and transportation restrictions. Your final semester will include an extensive internship as you complete the transition from observation to participation.
