Program Overview
Objective
Barry University’s objective is to become the premier provider of emergency preparedness and training for the residents of South Florida. The University will, through superior Emergency Medical Technician education, emphasize both a positive caring attitude and “educational mentorship” in its approach. These in turn will prepare our students to become knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of our community. The University has gathered a team with much experience in emergency public safety to create the type of educational programs required to provide superior training.
Format
The EMT training program has been designed to exceed the minimum requirements of the State of Florida, providing you with a stronger foundation for your future career.

Each class is capped at thirty students, and the Lab and Hospital Clinical portions have a 6:1 student-instructor ratio.

Barry University's EMT program has many partnerships with hospital and rescue services where students can complete their externship training, including:
