Sigma Tau Delta announces winners of 2019 writing awards

Each year, the Department of English and Foreign Languages, and Sigma Tau Delta conduct a writing contest, seeking the best student writers on campus. The contest reviews a variety of genres, including fiction, poetry, essays, and graphic novels, and is open to all Barry University students.

First-place and honorable mentions in each category receive a Certificate of Award from the Department, $50 for each first-place award, inscription on a permanent department plaque, and publication in the next issue of our literary journal, “What Oft Was Thought.”

All entries are anonymous and are judged by current Sigma Tau Delta Members. Award winners will be honored at the Honors Convocation Awards on Friday, May 10, from 1-2 p.m. in Cor Jesu Chapel. Dr. Andrea Greenbaum and Dr. Lillian Schanfield serve as co-faculty sponsors of Sigma Tau Delta.
