Biography:
Dr. Cartright is Assistant Professor of English and Director of Africana Studies. She teaches classes in English Composition, English Literature, Caribbean, and African American Literature. One of her articles was published by the Center for Black Studies, at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the Journal of Haitian Studies. Several of her poems were published in an anthology entitled “Brassage.” Other research interest includes ethics and the difficulties women encounter in management and leadership positions.
She participates in various cultural and literary activities in Broward County and has initiated several cultural and literary events in her community. She has served on the board of the Broward Multi-Ethnic Advisory Board to the Broward County Commissioners as Vice-Chair for three years and was recently appointed by the Governor of South Florida to serve on the Board of Directors of The Fund for Minority Teachers of South Florida.
