Exceptional Student Education, Ph.D.

The Exceptional Student Education specialization is designed for individuals who aspire to leadership, teaching, and/or research positions in Special Education. The doctoral program prepares graduates for college or university teaching and research; leadership positions in community, state, and government agencies; classroom teaching, and personnel preparation positions. Although the program orientation is non-categorical, you will have the opportunity to develop expertise in one category of exceptionality (i.e., MH, SLD, EH, Gifted) by completing the Seminar in ESE, the elective courses, and the dissertation.
