Catherine Roberts, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Exceptional Student Education at Barry University and holds a doctorate degree in Leadership in Exceptional Student Education. She has worked for almost thirty years with both mild and severe students with exceptionalities in urban areas in the South Bronx and Miami. Dr. Roberts conducted research in special education, particularly in collaborative ventures between school and communities as well as in teacher preparation for educating students with disabilities. She is currently involved in research on the effectiveness of inclusion for at-risk populations. She has worked with special needs populations in both co-teaching and collaborative models. Dr. Roberts works collaboratively with Dr. Harris-Looby in staff development training for inclusion in several schools in Miami-Dade County.
